Different forms of this art 

Firstly, to pop up the interest, we have to know it from the root. The debate contains various forms such as policy debates, value debates, fact debates, panel debates, public forum debates, parliamentary debates and so on. General principles of Debate

Basically, in general debates, there have to be two teams: the government team and the opposing team. Each team consists of three members, and each member owns their respective position. In general terms, the positions for the government are prime minister, deputy prime minister, and government whip. On the contrary, the opposing positions are leader of the opposition, deputy leader of the opposition, and opposition whip. Besides this, there is one moderator, one judge, and one timekeeper. Moderator and judge can be more than one on different terms. Again, each member gets 3 or 4 minutes to speak, and the time distribution may differ in different formats.

Roles of each character in particular positions 

Speaking of positions, every position has its own responsibilities to carry out. The debate starts with the very first speaker of the government team, the prime minister, who introduces the topic, indicates the conspicuous points, mentions the conceptual ideas, slightly demonstrates the topic, and passes the rest of the case to the next speaker to continue. After the first speaker gets the chance to speak, he or she does the same thing as the prime minister, but he or she gets the extra chance to break down some suitable points made by the prime minister. He generally breaks the opposition's points, summarizes the whole motion, simplifies the reasons to win over the opposition, and draws a conclusion of the motion. Finally, the opposition whip concludes his or her speech as the government whip. After that, again, both of the team’s leaders get extra minutes to break down the opposition's logic and rest their case. This is how a formal debate ends, and at the end of all speculation, the judge declares the winning team.
